EIF Q3 2026 fund announcements: signed agreements, pledges and targets
Three Q3 EIF releases distinguish a signed agreement, a pledge and a July fund close disclosed in September, preserving targets and commitment ceilings.

Research date: October 15, 2026. Reporting and event dates are identified separately below.
Three September releases from the European Investment Fund describe different fundraising stages. PYXIS includes an explicit signed-agreement statement. Nordic Foodtech II is described through a commitment ceiling and pledge. WAD’s September announcement reports a fund first close completed in mid-July.
This selected review covers announcements published from July 1 through September 30, checked on October 15, 2026. It preserves the timing the original documents actually disclose. It is not a complete EIF signature register, a list of open mandates or a total of cash disbursed during Q3. The announcement date does not automatically become the legal signature date.
PYXIS: a signed investment agreement, with ceilings still distinct
EIF’s September 21 release says the investment agreement for PYXIS Entertainment Ventures’ European Movie Boost Up Fund was signed on the margins of the San Sebastián International Film Festival. It describes EIF as an anchor investor committing up to €25 million.
The fund’s target size is €85 million. The release also carries a manager statement describing progress toward a €55 million first-closing threshold. A signed EIF agreement therefore should not be converted into a claim that the fund had already completed that first close, or reached its full target.
PYXIS will provide equity financing for European film producers and animation studios across development and production. The EIF investment is supported by MediaInvest within InvestEU. This is a specific fund and programme relationship, rather than a general promise that every audiovisual manager can obtain the same commitment.
The release confirms a signature ceremony but does not state its exact calendar day or show a disbursement schedule. Those fields remain unverified here. EIF’s original PYXIS announcement.
Nordic Foodtech II: a Q3 pledge for a fund with an earlier first close
The September 10 announcement describes EIF as pledging or committing up to €30 million to Nordic Foodtech VC’s NFT.VC Fund II. The amount is a ceiling, not an exact cash payment reported as completed.
EIF says the Helsinki-based manager is targeting €80 million and that the fund had a €40 million first close in April 2025. Those dates distinguish the Q3 support announcement from the fund’s earlier fundraising milestone. It would be inaccurate to label the April close as a new Q3 2026 launch.
The disclosed strategy is early-stage agrifood technology, including pre-seed and seed opportunities, with a focus on Northern Europe and potential investments elsewhere in Europe. The release identifies InvestEU support alongside other programme resources.
The reviewed announcement does not specify an exact agreement-signing date. Its pledge language should stay visible in the research record rather than be upgraded to an independently verified dated signature. EIF’s original Nordic Foodtech announcement.
WAD: a July first close disclosed in September
EIF’s September 3 release reports a €25 million EIF investment in WAD Capital’s first fund, supported through InvestEU. It says the fund completed its €67.5 million first closing in mid-July.
That €67.5 million is the fund’s first-close amount across investors, not EIF’s individual ticket. The fund was targeting €130 million, with a €132.5 million hard cap. Neither number should be substituted for capital already included in the first close.
The release describes a succession-investment model connecting experienced managers with established European SMEs. It identifies family offices and private investors as backers of the fund, and says the managing partners are contributing 2% of fund capital.
The source provides month-level timing for the first close, but no exact day for EIF’s legal signature. The record can support a Q3 fund closing milestone and a September disclosure of EIF participation without fabricating a daily transaction date. EIF’s original WAD announcement.
How to compare the records
Keep four fields separate: publication date, described transaction stage, EIF’s own amount and the fund’s fundraising measurement. Add an exact signature date only when the original supports one. An amount qualified as “up to” retains that ceiling; a target remains a target.
No combined total is calculated. These documents report an anchor agreement, a pledge and a first-close participation with different date precision. Adding their headline amounts would not establish EIF’s Q3 signed volume, the funds’ final-close volume or money reaching portfolio companies.
For managers researching institutional participation, an announced investment is evidence of that named relationship. It does not establish that applications are being accepted, that unused capacity remains or that another fund meets the programme’s criteria. The next useful evidence is a dated agreement disclosure, a verified closing statement or an actual programme application notice, linked to the existing record without counting the same transaction again.

Public records carry source-specific dates where available. No population-wide measured refresh cadence or universal verification deadline is established here. Page modified, source captured, fact observed, entity verified and aggregate measured describe different events. Check the date attached to the relevant claim; a missing verification date means unknown. Stored source history does not establish a customer-facing historical-analysis interface.
