October 2026 private fund closes: Taurus, Conversant and Turbine, with targets in context
Three October final-close announcements show why commingled commitments, co-investment vehicles and earlier fundraising targets need separate comparisons.
Three October final-close announcements offer different answers to the same fundraising question: how much capital did the manager actually secure, and for which vehicle? Taurus announced a close above its original target, Conversant separated its commingled fund from co-investment capital, and Turbine's reported final size can be compared with an earlier target disclosed by the European Investment Fund. These are three identified records, not a market-wide fundraising total.
This edition covers announcements published from October 1 through October 15, 2026. The individual announcements below are dated October 7, October 8 and October 9; the Turbine record also uses a subsequent October 12 statement from Sting, a founding partner, sponsor and investor in the fund. A date on a news release establishes when the announcement was made. It should not automatically be treated as a separate legal closing date.
October 7: Conversant separates the fund from co-investments
Conversant Capital announced the final close of its inaugural Conversant Private Investment Fund on October 7. Its issuer release reported $845 million of equity capital commitments across the fund and dedicated co-investment vehicles. Approximately $705 million was raised for the commingled fund, against an original $500 million target. The remainder was raised for dedicated co-investment vehicles. Conversant's announcement makes that distinction explicit.
For a manager comparison, approximately $705 million is therefore the disclosed commingled-fund figure. Using the broader $845 million figure as though it all belonged to that same vehicle would change the measurement boundary. The release says the commingled raise exceeded the target by more than 40%; that comparison should stay attached to the commingled figure.
The announcement also says CPIF had invested across seven investments and fully realized one. Those statements describe activity already reported at the announcement date. They do not provide a return series, a cash-flow schedule or evidence that the entire committed amount had been invested. A final close and a deployment milestone answer different questions.
October 8: Taurus reports a final close above target
Taurus Private Markets announced the final close of Taurus Private Markets Fund III, LP on October 8. The issuer release's headline states $301 million; its body describes over $300 million in capital commitments against an initial $225 million target. Keeping both formulations visible avoids manufacturing more precision than the body supplies.
The release identifies public pension plans, Taft Hartley plans and family offices among its investor categories. It describes a fund-of-funds approach complemented by co-investments and secondary transactions. Its underlying partnership categories include leveraged buyout, private credit and venture capital.
That structure matters when building a research shortlist. A commitment to a fund of funds should not be silently grouped with a direct commitment to an operating-company investment fund simply because both appear in a private-markets close roundup. The fund's stated strategy belongs beside the amount. The announcement does not provide a list of named LP commitments or fund-level performance figures, so this record makes neither claim.
October 9: Turbine closes at SEK 608 million
Turbine Capital's Fund I final close was announced on October 9 at SEK 608 million, according to Sting's October 12 statement. Sting identifies itself as a founding partner, sponsor and investor in the fund. It describes Turbine as an early-stage Nordic deep-tech venture fund and names Mycronic as a new industrial investor, alongside Saab, Scania, Volvo Cars and Stena. Institutional investors include Saminvest and the European Investment Fund.
The earlier EIF announcement dated April 20 disclosed a SEK 170 million commitment to Turbine Capital Fund I and a target total size of SEK 750 million. The October reported final size is below that earlier target. The two documents establish the comparison; they do not establish why the final size differed or whether the target changed between announcements.
Sting also dates the first close to April 2025. That is historical fundraising context, not a new first close in October 2026. This distinction prevents the same vehicle from being counted as two new October fundraising events.
What an allocator or fundraiser can use
The useful comparison is the defined record: announcement date, closing stage, vehicle, commitment amount, target and capital included. In this sample, the sources support three final-close announcements. They do not support an exhaustive October league table or an estimate of all capital raised during the month.
Before adding any record to a manager-selection workflow, preserve its original unit and vehicle boundary. Conversant's co-investment capital should remain distinguishable from its commingled fund. Turbine's SEK amount should remain in SEK unless an explicit exchange-rate date and source are added. Taurus's fund-of-funds description should remain attached to its close.
This is also a practical sourcing task: retain the manager's statement, check earlier target disclosures, and record unknowns instead of filling them with estimates. For the next stage of manager research, the Altss LP due-diligence checklist provides a related research path.
Methodology and limits
Altss compared four public primary documents: issuer announcements from Taurus and Conversant, a statement from Turbine founding partner and investor Sting, and the EIF's earlier commitment announcement. The release dates, stages and amounts above are attributed to those documents. No proprietary return database, undisclosed LP list or estimated monthly total is used. This edition records the evidence available on October 15, 2026; further closes or later revisions require their own dated verification.

Public records carry source-specific dates where available. No population-wide measured refresh cadence or universal verification deadline is established here. Page modified, source captured, fact observed, entity verified and aggregate measured describe different events. Check the date attached to the relevant claim; a missing verification date means unknown. Stored source history does not establish a customer-facing historical-analysis interface.
