Stonegate Capital’s September 2026 announcements describe two connected investment relationships: a Dubai office coordinating an established UK family’s portfolio, and outside co-investors responsible for their own decisions, funding and execution. Its new CIO is assigned substantive work across manager selection and investment capabilities. The launch statement places that work within a committee-led governance and risk framework, without disclosing a formal delegation of final approval powers.

The [September 8 launch announcement](https://stonegatecapitaluae.com/news/stonegate-capital-launches-in-dubai/) says the office was created exclusively to coordinate the unnamed family’s global financial, investment and strategic interests. Read alongside the subsequent CEO, CIO and CFO appointments, it gives managers a more specific picture of how investment proposals and implementation responsibilities are divided.

## Manager selection sits inside a wider portfolio remit

For public-market portfolios, Stonegate says it helps the family define investment objectives and an asset-allocation framework, assess financial institutions’ proposals, select and review asset managers and banking partners, and monitor risk and performance across institutions. A manager-selection relationship therefore sits alongside banking and consolidated oversight, rather than describing the entire investment operation.

Private-market opportunities have a different published workstream: origination, commercial assessment, due diligence, structuring coordination and ongoing monitoring. The office also coordinates legal, tax and structuring matters with appropriately qualified advisers. For a private-fund manager or company presenting an opportunity, those responsibilities create several substantive points of engagement beyond an introductory relationship.

The [September 18 CIO announcement](https://stonegatecapitaluae.com/news/stonegate-capital-appoints-peter-warnes-cio/) assigns Peter Warnes the development of investment capabilities across strategy, asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management, due diligence and manager selection in both public and private markets. That is a published investment remit. The launch says governance and risk management are led by an established investment committee, coordinated with the family’s Investor Policy Statement. Neither statement supplies the committee’s voting rules, approval thresholds or a resolution granting the CIO final investment authority. In a different institutional setting, [Connecticut’s private-capital RFP](https://altss.com/blog/connecticut-private-capital-consultant-recommendations-investment-authority) sets explicit conditions for considering a consultant for separate investment-management work.

## Leadership appointments support different parts of the operation

The other appointments add operational context. Stonegate’s [September 9 CEO announcement](https://stonegatecapitaluae.com/news/stonegate-capital-appoints-faisal-ahmad-ceo/) names Faisal Ahmad and describes collaboration with family offices, entrepreneurs, institutions, investment managers and advisers around its global opportunity pipeline.

The [September 30 CFO announcement](https://stonegatecapitaluae.com/news/stonegate-capital-appoints-sadeek-nilamdeen-cfo/) assigns Sadeek Nilamdeen leadership of the financial function and a role strengthening governance, reporting and financial processes supporting investment activities. Those responsibilities are relevant to implementation and oversight; the announcement does not assign him investment approval powers. The appointments collectively describe capabilities and operating responsibilities, while leaving the legal allocation of final authority unreported.

## A shared opportunity still has separate funding decisions

The launch’s co-investment wording makes the capital relationship explicit. Stonegate says it can coordinate information, due diligence and professional workstreams when aligned family offices or institutional partners independently decide to evaluate an opportunity alongside the family. Each participant remains responsible for its own investment decision, funding arrangements and execution.

For a GP or company seeking capital, that structure creates a distinction between gaining coordinated access to an opportunity and securing commitments from its participants. A common diligence process can support several investors, but the announcement provides no combined commitment amount or centrally controlled co-investor budget. Funding and execution remain matters for the individual participating parties.

Stonegate’s published model thus offers an investment-capability and coordination relationship with a defined manager-selection remit. Its outside-partner route can widen the set of investors examining a transaction, while preserving separate decisions and financing responsibilities for the capital that would complete it.
