## About

AboutFaceDetroit (AFD) is a Detroit-based registered 501c3 nonprofit focused on restoring home exteriors and boosting community pride in the East Village area, specifically along Cadillac Boulevard between East Vernor and Mack. The organization directs skilled labor and building materials to immediate neighbors, bypassing red tape to provide on-the-ground home repair and beautification. Its work includes energy-efficient window installation, gutter and fascia replacement, porch rehabs, siding, and front-yard landscaping. AFD operates with a narrow geographic scope—concentrating efforts on just three Cadillac blocks between Mack and E Vernor Hwy—to deliver direct, personalized assistance. The organization runs an Adopt-a-Block program committing to weekly cleanups in East Village and reports that 100% of all funds go toward its mission. AFD was founded by Alice James.
