Al Jaber Group traces to 1970 when Sultan Mohammed J. S. Al Jaber established the first construction operations. The firm remains controlled by the founding family and functions as the central holding structure for their commercial interests. Activity centers on direct ownership of contracting platforms, equipment fleets, and real-estate assets. Confirmed positions include Qaryat Al Beri mixed-use development in Abu Dhabi, multiple hotels under the Shangri-La and Traders brands, and a fleet exceeding 10,000 construction units plus 25 ships. Joint ventures have included Dorce Middle East for prefabricated buildings and Al Burkan Munitions Factory with Tawazun Holding. Geographic reach stays inside the Middle East, with project work recorded in the UAE and Qatar. Team leadership includes Chairman Obaid Khaleefa Jaber Al Murri and COO Fatima Obaid Al Jaber, who also chairs Al Bashayer Investment Company. In 2023 the group completed a debt restructuring involving Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank, and Fidera. No separate philanthropic vehicles or external club memberships are disclosed beyond Fatima Al Jaber's past board roles at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce. The structure differs from typical single-family offices because the majority of capital remains inside operating subsidiaries rather than in a diversified external portfolio. Governance therefore ties investment decisions directly to the performance of the construction and industrial businesses.
