Brad Alford established Alpha Capital Management in July 2006. He previously served as Managing Director of investments at the Duke Endowment and as Director of Endowment Investments at Emory University. Those roles supplied the institutional experience that shaped the firm’s focus on customized OCIO search and advisory work for institutions. Alpha Capital conducts OCIO and investment consultant searches. It has completed more than 110 such assignments. The firm structures its work around manager selection, performance benchmarking, and fee analysis rather than direct fund commitments. It maintains no disclosed portfolio companies and operates across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and Oceania through its client base. The firm remains 100 percent independently owned and employs a small team led by Alford. In 2019 it launched the Alpha Nasdaq OCIO Indices with Nasdaq; the indices now cover 52 OCIO firms. In 2021 it added the OCIO Analytics platform with seven modules for peer comparison. No operational events from the last 24 months appear in public records. Alpha Capital’s structural position rests on its dual role as both a multi-family office and the creator of the industry’s primary OCIO benchmarking tools. This combination gives it direct access to performance data from 1,300+ institutional portfolios while remaining outside the OCIO firms it evaluates.
