General Information

Alterfin is a Belgian social cooperative, founded in 1994, dedicated to improving the livelihoods of socially and economically disadvantaged people worldwide. It raises capital from over 6,000 co-op members and invests it through loans to microfinance institutions and smallholder producer organizations in sustainable agriculture. Operating primarily in rural areas of low- and middle-income countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, Alterfin aims to generate positive social, environmental, and economic impact, supporting millions of vulnerable families.
