AQUA Wealth Management S.A. was established in 2009 by José Pedro Varela and Milagros Varela. The firm provides portfolio management, cross-border estate planning and governance advisory to families in Brazil, Uruguay and the United States. Its structure includes separate legal entities in each jurisdiction to handle local regulatory and tax requirements. The firm deploys capital through direct co-investments, fund commitments and club real estate deals. Confirmed positions include a 2021 co-investment in Cyberhaven's $21 million Series B alongside Redpoint Ventures and ForgePoint Capital, an LP commitment to Summa Equity Fund III closed at €2.3 billion in 2022, and a 2023 lead investment in Velanis seed round. It also structured the 2020 acquisition of the Mitte Portfolio office assets in Berlin for an estimated €150 million. Geographic exposure spans South America, North America and Europe. AQUA operates additional offices in Montevideo, Miami and St Albans. Bruno Poles de Oliveira joined as partner in September 2024 with responsibility for investment and product committees. In November 2024 it participated as a panelist at The Private Markets Brazil Meeting discussing diversification strategies for Brazilian multi-family offices. This architecture allows direct control over local compliance, custody and client reporting while preserving the ability to execute cross-border club deals and co-investments.
