The firm follows an 'invest-grow-sell' approach focused entirely on Egypt. It builds a concentrated portfolio by targeting high-quality growth capital opportunities, then works alongside management teams on detailed operational and financial plans. B Investments specifically avoids competitive sell-side auctions, relying instead on its local brand and relationships to source proprietary deals.

The firm invests across real estate (Madinet Masr), financial services (Basata E-Payments, OB Financial Holding), renewable energy (Infinity Solar), food retail (Gourmet), and healthcare (El Ezaby, B Healthcare Investments). The portfolio is intentionally limited so the 24-person team can devote significant operational support to each holding.

B Investments operates as a listed private equity company itself, which functions more like a permanent capital vehicle than a traditional closed-end fund. It makes direct equity investments and uses designated holding structures, including B Healthcare Investments and Basata Financial Holding, established in partnership with BPE Partners and other co-investors.

In April 2024, B Investments completed a mandatory tender offer for a roughly 70% stake in Orascom Financial Holding via a landmark share swap. This transaction repositioned the firm as a consolidator in Egypt's financial infrastructure space, adding a substantial non-banking financial services platform to its portfolio.

After acquiring a position, the firm develops a Value Creation Plan and collaborates actively with portfolio company management on operational, financial, and strategic planning. The approach is explicitly hands-on and aims to double the size and valuation of each investment within a three-to-four-year cycle.
