Buain Group was established in 2018 by Mark Dormer. Dormer had spent nearly three decades in banking and asset management across Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Kingdom before launching the firm. The firm executes across venture capital, private equity, infrastructure and digital assets. It sources direct co-investments and SPVs while also allocating to secondaries and special situations. Activity spans Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Buain Group also runs public-market and private portfolios and performs due diligence that includes forensic review of crypto wallets. The team consists of consultants each reporting 25-30 years of experience. Buain Group maintains an adjacent management-consultancy platform called Appareo that assists families and companies with governance, licensing and operational set-up in Asia, the UAE and Europe. No dated operational events from the last 24 months appear in public materials.
