Cambridge Colleges' Federated Pension Scheme

The Cambridge Colleges' Federated Pension Scheme was established in 1978 to serve non-academic employees of the participating colleges. Cambridge Colleges Superannuation Trustees Ltd acts as the corporate trustee. Administration services are provided by the University of Cambridge. The scheme holds a diversified portfolio that includes a $120 million growth asset allocation in global and emerging market equities, an $80 million liability-driven investment portfolio using derivatives, and $25 million in UK corporate bonds. Real estate exposure comes through the Schroder UK Real Estate Fund. Additional holdings include the Securis Event Fund for insurance-linked securities and listed infrastructure via International Public Partnerships Limited. Allocations are executed through Schroders Investment Management and other pooled vehicles. Robin Ellison serves as Chairman of the Management Committee. Irshaad Ahmad sits as a trustee. The scheme maintains relationships with 25 sponsoring colleges including St John's, King's, and Trinity Hall. In 2024 the scheme participated as a speaker at Trustee Workbench on topics covering scheme consolidation and trustee liabilities.
