Eight Roads Ventures originated as Fidelity Ventures, the venture capital arm of Fidelity Investments, and was rebranded in 2015. The firm still operates with Fidelity's backing, which provides permanent capital and strategic autonomy. This structure distinguishes it from independent venture managers that raise funds on a cycle basis.

The firm leverages dedicated investment teams in London, Bangalore, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Mumbai, and Tokyo, supplemented by F-Prime Capital in Boston. This physical presence across Asia, Europe, and the US allows the firm to originate proprietary opportunities and support portfolio companies as they expand internationally.

Eight Roads takes a stage-agnostic approach, deploying capital at seed, early-stage, and growth equity rounds. The platform's $8 billion of assets under management and permanent-capital base allow it to lead rounds across the company lifecycle, rather than specializing narrowly in a single stage.

The firm invests primarily in technology and healthcare, with confirmed focus areas that include enterprise software, fintech, and AI/ML. Portfolio companies such as AppsFlyer (mobile attribution) and Icertis (contract intelligence) reflect this emphasis on global enterprise-technology platforms.

Because Eight Roads is backed by Fidelity Investments, it does not publicly fundraise from external limited partners. Its capital base is permanent, which removes traditional fund-return pressures and allows the firm to hold investments for extended periods without forced exits.
