Inventis is an Australian public company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, not a conventional closed-end private equity fund. It operates as a holding company with two operating divisions — Technology and Furniture — and acts as a strategic, balance-sheet investor in industrial technology and commercial furniture manufacturing. The firm does not raise blind-pool external capital from institutional limited partners.

WINYA is described by Inventis as a majority Indigenous-owned and controlled associate company. WINYA manufactures and supplies commercial workstations, sit-stand desks, seating, and storage to government and corporate organizations. The division also develops safety systems for road and rail applications under the Hazavoid brand and C4 plus biometrics solutions aimed at defense, field security, and remote healthcare, according to the company's stated strategy.
