Invest Northern Ireland was formed in 2002 as a non-departmental public body. Kieran Donoghue serves as chief executive and John Healy chairs the board. The agency receives its mandate and funding from the Department for the Economy and DAERA. Capital deploys across venture, early-stage equity, and expansion debt. Asset classes include direct minority stakes, co-investments via SPVs, and commitments to local funds. Confirmed holdings run through Co-Fund NI and Techstart Ventures SME Equity Fund, with positions in Kinsetsu, Cirdan, ReformRX, INQDATA, Stora Software, Senergy Innovations, and CattleEye.
