Tim Haverkate, as CEO, leads the platform's strategy and day-to-day execution, operating within the portfolio of SDC Capital Partners. SDC, the digital infrastructure investment firm, provides the committed equity and strategic oversight, but operational and buildout decisions — including market selection — rest with Haverkate and the IQ Fiber management team.

The firm targets suburban and exurban corridors in the Southeast — particularly Florida and Georgia — where incumbent cable and DSL providers have not deployed symmetrical fiber. IQ Fiber's team, led by CEO Tim Haverkate, selects communities based on household density, lack of competitive fiber overbuild, and the presence of a single dominant cable provider, allowing them to enter as a differentiated symmetrical offering from day one.

IQ Fiber exclusively executes direct greenfield fiber builds; it does not make fund commitments, acquire existing networks, or invest in third-party operators. The $350 million equity commitment from SDC Capital Partners is structured specifically for organic network construction, with no co-investment syndicates or parallel funds disclosed to date.

IQ Fiber avoids dense urban cores where multiple fiber overbuilders already compete — markets like downtown Miami, Atlanta's Midtown, or Tampa's central business district. The firm's stated focus is on suburban communities with a single cable incumbent and no existing symmetrical fiber alternative, a deliberate strategy to avoid price wars against established multi-gigabit competitors.
