Jura Investments was established by members of the McDowell family after decades operating Kilwaughter Minerals in Larne, Northern Ireland. John Charles Kenneth McDowell previously served as managing director of the business before its sale. The office deploys capital through direct co-investments, SPVs, fund-of-funds vehicles and commitments to private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, natural resources and hedge funds. Geographic reach spans North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Investment stages include buyouts and Series A rounds with sector exposure that includes FinTech and biotech. No headcount or additional offices are disclosed. The firm holds commercial property at Gostrey House in Farnham, Surrey. October 2024: Saint-Gobain acquired Kilwaughter Minerals from the McDowell family. The McDowell family maintains operational separation between the investment office and its philanthropic vehicles, including the Pathway Opportunity Programme at Queen's University Belfast.
