The firm does not operate in consumer internet, enterprise SaaS, or fintech — its mandate is tied directly to the university's engineering and applied-science intellectual property pipeline.

Deal flow originates from Teikyo University's technology transfer office, which processes faculty invention disclosures and manages the university's patent portfolio. KITT receives exclusive first-look rights at this pipeline, giving it a proprietary sourcing channel that external venture firms cannot replicate. The firm occasionally co-invests with regional deep-tech venture partners when syndicating larger rounds.
