Midinvest Management

The partnership runs investment decisions collectively. Managing director Jarkko Danska leads deal flow and new investments. Investment directors Jukka-Pekka Nikula, Jarkko Kosonen, and Marja Kantonen each participate in sourcing and investment committee work. The team has operated together in various configurations since the firm’s 2001 founding.

Proximity is the sourcing engine. The firm invests exclusively in Central Finland, a region underserved by larger Nordic funds. That geographic concentration, combined with a 30-year track record in the Jyväskylä-Keski-Suomi corridor, gives the partnership early visibility into succession-driven transitions at family-owned industrial and technology businesses.

Midinvest only makes direct equity investments from its own closed-end funds. It does not operate as a fund-of-funds or make LP commitments to other managers. All capital is deployed into portfolio companies as minority or control equity stakes.

Midinvest does not publish a formal exclusion list, but the portfolio reveals a clear preference for companies with proprietary technology or industrial products. The firm has no presence in consumer internet, retail, hospitality, or real estate development, and its website makes no mention of healthcare services or biopharma.

Midinvest Oy was the firm’s first private equity fund, launched in 1994. Midinvest Management was later incorporated in 2001 as the dedicated management company and general partner for that fund and the seven subsequent vehicles. The original fund provides the investment track record, while the management company handles all current operations.
