Pittco Management was founded in 1991 by Joseph R. Pitt Hyde III after he built AutoZone into a national auto-parts retailer. Hyde and his wife Barbara established the office to oversee family capital and provide accounting, tax, and investment services. The office remains headquartered in Memphis and maintains close ties to local institutions including the Hyde Family Foundation. Pittco allocates across managed funds, direct venture and buyout transactions, and multifamily real estate. Confirmed positions include a strategic stake in Pershing Square Holdco alongside Bill Ackman. The firm also holds multifamily assets through its Tirrill-Hyde partnership in Atlanta and Colorado Springs. Investment activity spans North America with additional exposure to Southeastern United States markets. Stages include early-stage venture, growth equity, and buyouts.
