Sukanto Tanoto established RGE in 1973. The office serves as the primary investment and governance entity for the Tanoto family’s capital. It maintains a Singapore headquarters and focuses on capital preservation alongside long-term value creation. RGE deploys across private equity, real estate, infrastructure, natural resources and public markets. It executes through direct co-investments and SPVs. Confirmed real-estate positions include Wanda Reign on the Bund in Shanghai and Tanglin Shopping Centre in Singapore. The office also holds St Botolph’s House in London and Ludwigstraße Office Building in Munich. Geographic reach covers Asia, Europe, North America and South America. The office lists no disclosed AUM figure. It employs a core team that includes Tey Wei Lin as President and Belinda Tanoto as Managing Director. May 2024: APRIL Group acquired a controlling stake in India’s Origami tissue-products company. RGE separates investment decisions from the operating companies it oversees.
