## Questions

### Who runs investment decisions at RoboIT?

RoboIT is governed through a partnership between CDP Venture Capital SGR, the state-backed anchor investor, and Pariter Partners, which manages the hub's operations and selection process. Claudia Pingue leads CDP's Technology Transfer Fund that initiated and finances the hub. The program relies on scientific committees at each partner university and research center to vet technologies before they enter the investment pipeline.

### How does RoboIT source proprietary deal flow?

RoboIT does not source deals in the open market. Its pipeline originates inside the laboratories of its four scientific promoters: IIT, University of Naples Federico II, University of Verona, and Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa. Research teams with a technology readiness level of 3–4 or higher apply to the hub's two-phase program. This creates a proprietary flow of deep-tech robotics projects that never see a conventional venture pitch process.

### Is RoboIT a venture capital fund?

No. RoboIT is a technology transfer hub — a structured program that funds proof-of-concept development and initial company creation, not a closed-end venture fund. It deploys capital from CDP Venture Capital's Technology Transfer Fund alongside Pariter Partners, but operates as a pipeline: selected teams move from a pre-company Tech Incubation phase into a Business Creation phase that provides seed funding. Follow-on investment is intended to come from sectoral venture funds and the broader market.

### How is RoboIT related to CDP Venture Capital?

CDP Venture Capital SGR created RoboIT as the first of multiple planned National Technology Transfer Hubs in Italy. The €40 million commitment came from CDP's Technology Transfer Fund, a dedicated vehicle designed to bridge the gap between public research and venture-backed companies. CDP acts as the anchor investor and promoter; Pariter Partners operates the hub day-to-day.

### Does RoboIT co-invest with external venture funds?

Yes. Eureka! Venture SGR participates through its Eureka! Fund I – Technology Transfer, and AVM Gestioni SGR invests through the Cysero EuVECA fund. These co-investors can enter alongside RoboIT during the Business Creation phase, providing additional capital and fund-level validation for graduating startups. RoboIT's model is designed to prepare companies for this hand-off rather than to hold them indefinitely.

### What is the relationship between RoboIT and the Italian Institute of Technology?

The Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Genoa is RoboIT's central scientific host and research pole. The hub's physical campus, called Robot Valley, sits in Valpolcevera, Genoa, near IIT's facilities. IIT provides the core robotics research pipeline, lab infrastructure, and academic oversight, while the three partner universities extend the sourcing network across Italy.
