Rocana sources through the consumer supply chains of its strategic limited partners, particularly Grupo Mariposa and Golden West Food Group. The firm also leans on a network of exited entrepreneurs, such as Sameer Vaswani, and celebrity-partnership advisor Anjula Acharia. This design aims to surface brands before they reach broad auction processes.

Rocana is structured as a venture firm with a family-office anchor. Grupo Mariposa, a multi-generational Latin American family conglomerate, has served as the anchor investor since the firm’s first fund in 2015, but Rocana raises and deploys capital through a traditional venture-fund model with multiple external limited partners.

The firm makes direct equity investments into operating companies. It does not describe itself as a fund-of-funds, and its marketing materials present every portfolio position as a direct stake in a consumer brand. The firm highlights post-investment operational support rather than passive fund commitments.

Rocana self-describes as covering early stage, seed, start-up, and expansion or late stage. In practice, its named deals — such as Olipop, Kettle & Fire, and Three Wishes — suggest check sizes spanning seed through growth equity, often alongside brand-building support rather than pure financial engineering.

The firm maintains a public no-fly-zone list that includes tobacco, alcohol and related products, and cannabis excluding CBD. Within consumer, it explicitly avoids categories it views as misaligned with its wellness thesis, though it does not publish a broader restriction list.

Rocana does not disclose the personal wealth origin of its co-founders. Its anchor LP, Grupo Mariposa, derives its capital from a nearly 130-year-old family business that is Pepsi’s anchor bottler in parts of Latin America and a joint-venture partner of AB InBev, along with a growing portfolio of proprietary consumer brands.
