Annie Chen began the work that became RS Group in 2008 after attending a social enterprise conference in Hong Kong. She is a member of the Chen family that co-founded Hang Lung Group. The office treats its entire capital base as a single vehicle for blended financial, social, and environmental returns rather than separating investment and philanthropy. The strategy covers private equity, real estate, private credit, infrastructure, and natural resources. Capital is deployed through direct co-investments, SPVs, fund-of-funds commitments, and philanthropic vehicles. Confirmed positions include SJF Ventures III and support for Landesa. The geographic footprint spans Asia, Africa, and North America. Early-stage investments are made alongside catalytic capital for nature-based solutions. No headcount figure is published. The team includes professionals with prior experience at RRJ Capital, UBS Optimus Foundation, and Credit Suisse. Adjacent vehicles include the Natural Capital Initiative and the Sustainable Finance Initiative, both incubated by the office. Annie Chen also serves on the board of Civic Exchange. No operational events from the last 24 months appear in public records. RS Group maintains membership in the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network and The ImPact.
