Sandvik Mining Systems is a business division within Sandvik AB, the publicly traded Swedish engineering group founded in 1862. It supplies underground and surface mining equipment, including drills, loaders, trucks, crushers, and conveyor systems, alongside digital automation and fleet management software. The unit serves hard-rock and soft-rock mines across Africa, the Americas, Australia, and Europe. Its product portfolio spans drilling rigs, rock tools, crushing and screening equipment, and bulk materials handling systems. The division also offers spare parts, maintenance services, and retrofit upgrades. It competes with Caterpillar's mining segment, Komatsu, and Epiroc (the former Sandvik surface equipment unit spun off in 2018). Its capital expenditure decisions are governed by Sandvik AB's corporate strategy and quarterly earnings cycles.
