Security Trading Oy was formed through the 2005 demerger of Herlin family holding companies. Antti Herlin serves as its chairman. The entity received an initial 4.69 percent stake in the newly independent KONE Corporation, establishing the core long-term holding that continues to anchor the portfolio. The firm commits to direct investments, co-investments, and public market transactions. Confirmed positions include Blastr Green Steel, Infinited Fiber Company, Paebbl, Varjo Technologies, and YIT Oyj. It also maintains stakes in UPM-Kymmene Oyj and Huhtamaki Oyj. Geographic focus centers on Finland and the broader Nordics, with additional exposure to Europe through fund commitments such as 2150 Fund II. Asset classes include industrial equities, climate technology, circular economy ventures, and real estate. The office manages approximately 4300 million USD. It holds additional vehicles including Security Forest Oy. In March 2024 Security Trading Oy participated in a directed share issue for YIT Oyj alongside Ahlström Invest. The firm has executed real estate acquisitions such as the 2016 purchase of Långvik South Oy properties in Kirkkonummi. Security Trading Oy operates as the primary investment vehicle for the Herlin family’s controlling interest in KONE through its 51 percent ownership of Holding Manutas Oy. This structure centralizes governance of the family’s industrial assets while allowing parallel deployment into sustainability-focused opportunities and opportunistic real asset transactions.
