SPNG
SPNG was founded in 1968 to administer retirement schemes for Dutch wholesale employers under both voluntary and mandatory participation rules. Jan van der Zouw serves as chairman; Kees Vlaar represents employees and pensioners on the board. The fund operated until its scheme and assets transferred to Pensioenfonds PGB on 1 January 2023. The portfolio mixes fixed income, real estate, public equities and private equity. Fixed-income holdings of $537M consist of government bonds and high-grade credits. Two Altera Vastgoed vehicles provide $120M of indirect Dutch residential and convenience retail exposure. Public equity positions include a $400M MSCI World Index allocation and a $77M emerging-markets sleeve. Private-equity exposure of 5.06% runs through Achmea-managed funds. SPNG employed Achmea Investment Management as fiduciary from 2015 to 2022 and Northern Trust as custodian over the same period. TKP Pensioen handled administration until the 2023 transfer. The fund maintained membership in the Pensioenfederatie industry association. SPNG operated as a sector-specific pension vehicle whose governance linked directly to the Vereniging van Groothandelaren in Nederland employer association, creating a closed-loop structure between plan sponsor and asset owner until the scheme migration to PGB.
