Square Capital was established in 2007 by two former Goldman Sachs Asset Management Executive Directors. The founders channeled proceeds from their own careers into a platform serving ultra-high-net-worth families and institutions. Wealth origin traces directly to those Goldman tenures rather than an operating business or inheritance. The firm deploys across public equities, hedge funds, private equity, private credit, real estate and natural resources. It structures allocations through fund-of-funds commitments, direct co-investments and SPVs. Confirmed positions include real-estate assets in London, Paris and Monaco plus farmland and apple orchards in France. Geographic reach covers Europe, North America, the Middle East and South America. Investment stages span venture capital, growth equity and buyouts. The team numbers principals across multiple offices and maintains a Paris vehicle focused on megatrend equities. Square Capital also holds interests in Odiot silverware archives and operates a dedicated real-estate club. In April 2025 it added Arunas Jakumavicius as a member of the LLP. Adjacent vehicles include the European Demidoff Association. Square Capital operates a hybrid model that combines discretionary portfolio management for outside families with proprietary club deals executed alongside the founders' personal capital. This structure creates direct alignment on illiquid holdings while preserving separation between client mandates and founder assets.
