Talisman Global Asset Management was founded in 1998 by members of the Pears family. Mark Pears serves as executive chairman while also leading the William Pears Group. The capital base originated in post-war UK residential and commercial property ownership that expanded into one of Britain's largest private real estate portfolios. The firm allocates across real estate, private equity, hedge funds, private credit, infrastructure, commodities, and digital assets. It maintains confirmed exposure in Europe and North America with additional positions across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Portfolio holdings include Telereal Trillium, Central Asia Metals, LendInvest, and Verdant Leisure. Talisman also operates an internal absolute-return vehicle and participates in direct co-investments and SPVs alongside external managers. The team manages approximately $5B in assets. Nick Cavalla serves as CEO after previously acting as CIO of the University of Cambridge endowment. Additional offices are not disclosed. The Pears Foundation functions as the family's primary philanthropic vehicle with annual giving above £20M focused on education and health. In April 2024 the firm spoke at the Agora Emerging Managers Conference on global equity opportunities. Talisman maintains a hybrid structure that combines single-family oversight with a formal multi-family platform. External capital participates through co-investment opportunities rather than broad fund-of-funds distribution. Governance ties remain anchored to the founding Pears family principals and the William Pears Group operating company.
