Teachers Assurance

Teachers Assurance was founded in 1877 by the National Union of Teachers to serve members with insurance and savings products. The business transferred to Liverpool Victoria in 2016 and continues under that ownership. The firm offers with-profits and unit-linked policies. Asset management is delegated to BlackRock, which runs the Teachers Assurance Fund across equities and fixed income. Geographic exposure remains concentrated in the United Kingdom. The firm maintains three wholly owned subsidiaries: Teachers Property Limited, Teachers Assurance Company Limited, and Teachers Financial Services Limited. It also supports the Steve Sinnott Foundation and the Teachers Group Educational Trust. The structure is defined by the 2016 transfer agreement that placed all policies and assets inside LV= while preserving the Teachers Assurance brand for the education sector.
