Teknoseed targets early-stage deep-tech companies emerging from Nordic research universities, with an emphasis on advanced materials, clean energy storage, agritech, and industrial automation. The firm enters at pre-seed and seed stages, funding the transition from lab prototype to pilot production. Sectors include sodium-ion batteries, graphene composites, and precision fermentation for alternative proteins.

Deal flow derives primarily from proximity to Lund University, the MAX IV laboratory, and regional incubators such as Ideon Science Park — Scandinavia's first research park. Teknoseed's model relies on relationships with academic founders and technology transfer offices rather than on traditional advisor-driven or auction-process sourcing. The firm co-invests alongside European Innovation Council funds, national energy agencies, and Nordic industrial venture arms.

The firm concentrates on Sweden, with a specific focus on the Skåne region and the Uppsala-Stockholm innovation corridor. It will selectively evaluate opportunities in Denmark and Finland when the underlying intellectual property originates from a Nordic technical university. Teknoseed does not maintain a presence outside the Nordic region and does not actively invest in Southern Europe or North America.

The firm's proximity to Lund's research infrastructure — including the MAX IV synchrotron and the European Spallation Source — gives it privileged access to scientific advisors who can validate claims in materials science and energy storage. Teknoseed does not rely on external consulting firms for technical diligence; instead, it draws on the academic network within a few kilometers of its office to pressure-test founders' technical milestones and underlying intellectual property.
