Gottfried Haider is the Founder and Managing Partner and serves as the central investment decision-maker. He sources deals, leads due diligence, and sits on the boards of multiple portfolio companies. His prior roles at Cisco and DFJ continue to shape Tekton's operating posture.

Tekton relies on direct relationships with founders in Tokyo, Bangalore, and Seoul, built over Haider's two decades operating in those markets. Sourcing is almost entirely referral-driven through local incubators, university labs, and corporate spin-outs, which limits competition from US-based funds that lack permanent on-the-ground networks in those regions.

The firm writes first checks at the pre-seed and seed stages and occasionally follows on through Series A. Its earliest commitments often represent the first institutional capital a non-US founder raises from a Silicon Valley–domiciled fund.

Tekton has not publicly excluded sectors, but the portfolio reflects a consistent avoidance of consumer internet, media, and speculative crypto. The firm focuses on enterprise software, industrial AI, and fintech—verticals where cross-border go-to-market complexity becomes a defensible advantage rather than a liability.

Tekton is an independent firm. Haider was previously a venture partner at DFJ, where he sourced cross-border investments, and Tekton's formation reflects an evolution of that investment posture rather than a spin-out or affiliate relationship with DFJ.
