The Pritzker Organization (TPO) is the merchant bank and principal investing platform for the Tom Pritzker family’s business interests. It partners with management teams to found, acquire, and grow businesses over long horizons using permanent family capital, operating as neither a traditional private equity fund nor conventional family office (per official About Us page). 1902 Capital serves as TPO’s primary investment vehicle for stewardship of long-term holdings and family interests. Tracing roots to the Pritzker & Pritzker law firm established in 1902 by Nicholas J. Pritzker, it evolved into a merchant bank for family holdings by the 1950s and was renamed The Pritzker Organization in the 1990s to reflect its commercial mission (per official history). Over 70+ years, successive leadership of A.N. Pritzker, Jay Pritzker, and Tom Pritzker has driven approximately 300+ transactions representing more than $40 billion of equity value (per About Us). TPO emphasizes flexible structuring (control, minority, or partnership), patient capital free of fund cycles or exit pressures, speed, certainty, after-tax focus, and deep alignment with partners and executives. Investments span industries and company stages. Tom Pritzker has led TPO for more than 25 years as Executive Chairman.
