Thermogenics was founded in 1967 in Ottawa, Ontario, and has remained a privately held manufacturer of industrial steam and hot water boilers for over five decades, led by President and CEO Robert McLeish. The company engineers its own pressure vessels and heat exchangers at its Canadian facility, a vertical integration uncommon among commercial boiler providers. The firm's product line spans low- and high-pressure steam boilers, hot water generators, thermal fluid heaters, and full boiler-room auxiliary equipment. Its systems are sold primarily into healthcare, district energy, higher education, food processing, and heavy industrial sites across the United States and Canada. Rather than operating as a service provider or a lessor of gas-fired assets, Thermogenics functions as an OEM: it designs, builds and commissions turnkey thermal plants, with a particular emphasis on replacement of aging shell-and-tube boilers with its own coil-tube designs. Thermogenics operates from a single manufacturing and engineering campus in Ottawa, with field service and sales coverage across North America. The company does not publicly disclose workforce numbers or balance-sheet scale. In recent years the firm has positioned its coil-tube boilers as a more responsive and fuel-flexible alternative to legacy firetube systems, though it has not announced a formal electrification or heat-pump product line. A structural differentiator is Thermogenics' ownership of its entire manufacturing and engineering stack, which enables it to produce ASME-certified pressure vessels without outside fabrication dependency. That captive production capability, combined with a five-decade installed base in institutional facilities, creates a replacement-cycle moat: when a hospital or campus must swap a decades-old boiler, Thermogenics can supply a unit that fits the existing footprint and piping layout, often without a competitive tender.
