Wolfpack Investor Network

Co-Managing Directors Joe Sinsheimer and Brett Danforth oversee the network's operations. Abby Phillips serves as Director, and Lisa Chang runs diligence. Because WIN is an angel network, individual members make their own investment decisions on each presented deal — the management team curates and presents opportunities rather than making centralized allocation calls.

WIN sources primarily from North Carolina State University's commercialization pipeline, including companies spinning out of the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology & Science (KIETS). The network also leverages the NC State Alumni Association and frequently co-invests with the Carolina Angel Network, creating a regional, university-anchored deal funnel.

WIN is structured as an angel network, not a pooled venture fund. Individual accredited investors — largely NC State alumni — choose which specific deals to back. This gives members direct discretion over their capital and means WIN's deployment is the aggregate of individual member decisions rather than a single committed fund.

WIN operates as a direct investment network for individual deals sourced through NC State's ecosystem. There is no public record of the network making fund commitments or acting as a limited partner in external venture funds.

WIN is formally organized under NC State's Office of Research and Innovation. This institutional embedding means the network's governance, deal sourcing, and continuity are tied to the university rather than a standalone management company. It also supports NC State Entrepreneurship Scholarships and a Seed Capital Endowment Fund.
