# Altss vs DealCloud

By AltssApril 19, 202615 min readCompetitor figures re-checked August 6, 2026

DealCloud, part of Intapp, is the enterprise system of record for private capital: deal pipeline, fundraising modules, compliance, and a data model configured to your firm. Altss is an OSINT-native allocator-intelligence platform: verified family office and institutional LP data, with a CRM, AI-assisted outreach, a research copilot, and a notetaker built in. DealCloud is the platform your firm configures. Altss is the data your firm does not have. This page covers where each wins, honestly.

Large firms standardising deal, relationship, and compliance workflow across teams

*DealCloud and Intapp figures come from Intapp's own reporting and independent third-party pricing coverage, checked August 6, 2026. Intapp does not publish DealCloud list pricing. Altss figures reflect internal database counts as of August 2026.*

DealCloud and Altss solve adjacent problems and are frequently bought together. DealCloud is where a large firm standardises its deal pipeline, relationship records, and compliance workflow, configured to how that firm works. It holds the data you put into it. Altss supplies data you do not have: 9,000+ family offices and 150,000+ private-markets entities collected from the public record, with the outreach workflow to act on it. If you need one system of record across a 200-person firm, that is DealCloud. If you need to know which allocators to call this quarter, that is Altss.

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#what-is-altss)What is Altss?

Altss is an OSINT-native allocator-intelligence platform built for managers raising capital in alternative assets. The data comes from the public record: SEC filings (Form ADV, Form D, 13F), state pension CAFRs, Form 990 and 990-PF for foundations, endowment annual reports, sovereign wealth fund disclosures, verified corporate registries, and published allocator statements. That produces verified profiles of 9,000+ family offices and 150,000+ private-markets entities worldwide[3](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-3).

The workflow sits on the same data: a built-in CRM and pipeline, AI-assisted outreach, a research copilot, an inbox with a meeting notetaker, Scouter for investor discovery, events and conference intelligence, and a relationship graph. Altss also runs a live 35M+ company dataset.

The design constraint that matters most in this comparison: Altss is a fixed product. There is no configuration project, no professional services engagement, and no data model to design. A new user logs in and works. That is an advantage for a ten-person IR team and a limitation for a firm that needs its own object model across deals, funds, compliance, and billing.

Altss is UI-only. No CSV export, no public raw-data API, no CRM sync. DealCloud is an integration platform by nature, so this difference is structural rather than incidental.

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#what-is-competitor)What is DealCloud?

DealCloud is a deal and relationship management platform for private capital, acquired by Intapp in 2018 and now part of a broader suite spanning deal management, compliance, time and billing, and marketing and business development. Its defining characteristic is configurability: the data model, pipelines, reports, and workflows are shaped to how a specific firm operates.

Per Intapp's own reporting and independent coverage, checked August 6, 2026[1](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-1)[2](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-2):

- **1,100+ client firms** across professional and financial services[1](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-1)

- **Intapp cloud ARR above $400M** in Q1 FY2026[1](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-1)

- Coverage of the full **deal lifecycle**, from sourcing through execution[1](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-1)

- **Compliance, time and billing** modules alongside the CRM[1](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-1)

- Pricing **not published**; independent reporting puts annual software cost commonly in the **low six figures**, reaching high six figures for larger or multi-office firms[2](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-2)

- Implementation typically runs **multiple months** and often depends on professional services for configuration[2](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-2)

For a large firm, that configurability is the point. Deal teams, IR, compliance, and finance can work from one system with one set of records, and the reporting reflects how the firm actually organises itself rather than how a vendor assumed it would.

DealCloud does not sell allocator data. Market data reaches it through integrations with providers such as Dakota, Preqin, PitchBook, and FINTRX, each licensed separately. That is why DealCloud and a data subscription are almost always bought as a pair.

### DealCloud holds your data; Altss supplies data you lack

This is the whole comparison in one line, and it explains why the two are so often bought together. DealCloud is a system of record: excellent at organising, permissioning, and reporting on the deals, contacts, and funds your firm already knows about. It does not arrive with a family office dataset, and it does not claim to.

Altss arrives as data. 9,000+ family offices, 150,000+ private-markets entities, 40,000+ GPs, collected from public sources with a verification timestamp on each record[3](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-3). The CRM and outreach layer exists so a team can act on that data without exporting it, not because Altss is trying to be an enterprise system of record.

### Configuration is a strength and a cost

DealCloud's data model can be shaped to almost anything, which is why large multi-strategy firms choose it. The same property is why implementations run months and typically involve professional services[2](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-2). For a firm with an operations team and a defined process, that investment returns. For a six-person IR team raising Fund II, it usually does not.

Altss has the inverse profile. Nothing to configure, and no ability to configure. If your firm needs custom objects, per-deal workflow rules, and compliance-driven field-level controls, Altss will not give you those and DealCloud will.

### Where the two overlap: fundraising pipeline

DealCloud has fundraising and investor relations modules, and Altss has a CRM and pipeline. This is the only genuine overlap, and for most firms it is decided by what else you need. A firm already running DealCloud across deals and compliance will keep its fundraising pipeline there and use Altss for allocator discovery, signals, and outreach.

A firm with no enterprise CRM will find that Altss covers the fundraising pipeline adequately without a six-figure platform commitment, and will revisit the question if it later needs deal execution and compliance in one system.

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#freshness)Data freshness

Freshness means different things for a system of record and for a data platform.

### Altss

- Public records carry source-specific dates where available. No population-wide measured refresh cadence or universal verification deadline is established here. Page modified, source captured, fact observed, entity verified and aggregate measured describe different events. Check the date attached to the relevant claim; a missing verification date means unknown. Stored source history does not establish a customer-facing historical-analysis interface.

- Faster updates on personnel changes, mandate shifts, and fund launches as they become publicly observable

- Every email bounce-checked before the record appears

- Every record traceable to a public source with a verification timestamp

### DealCloud

- Records are as current as your team keeps them, plus whatever connected data providers deliver[1](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-1)

- Data provider integrations can push updates into DealCloud on the provider's cadence

- Coverage of an allocator your firm has never tracked depends entirely on the data subscription behind it

- Activity capture and AI features across the Intapp suite reduce, but do not remove, manual maintenance

DealCloud's freshness is inherited from whatever you connect to it. That is a reasonable architecture, and it means the quality of the allocator data in your DealCloud instance is decided by a separate purchase.

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#methodology)Methodology: configured system of record vs. sourced data

The two platforms are not really competing on methodology, because only one of them collects data.

**DealCloud's approach:** configure and integrate. The firm defines its own objects, pipelines, and permissions, then connects data providers, email, and the rest of the Intapp suite. The methodology question for a DealCloud buyer is not how DealCloud collects data, but which data subscription sits behind it and how well the integration maintains the records.

**Altss's approach:** OSINT-first collection. Filings, registries, CAFRs, 990s, endowment reports, sovereign disclosures, public news, and published statements, resolved into entities and timestamped against their source. The dataset exists for allocators no customer has ever tracked, which is the point of buying it.

The practical consequence: a DealCloud instance with no allocator data subscription behind it is an empty, very well-organised database. Altss without an enterprise CRM is a full dataset with a lighter workflow. Which gap you can live with is the real decision.

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#pricing)Pricing

A DealCloud instance with no allocator data subscription behind it is an empty, very well-organised database. Add the data and the implementation to any quote before comparing it to anything.

### Altss

Published. **Family Office Intelligence $15,000/year** ($12,000 emerging), **Global Investor Intelligence $18,000** ($15,000), **Full Market Intelligence $25,000** ($20,000). One named user included; additional users from $5,000. **Altss Fundraising OS from $25,000/year** adds the investor CRM, AI outreach and meeting intelligence. There is no implementation fee and no configuration project.

### DealCloud

**DealCloud (Intapp does not publish pricing):**

- Annual software cost commonly in the **low six figures**, per independent reporting[2](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-2)

- Larger or multi-office firms reported at **high six figures or more**[2](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-2)

- Every quote requires a sales conversation; no list price is published[2](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-2)

- **Implementation and configuration** are typically additional and run multiple months[2](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-2)

- Allocator and market data are **licensed separately** from providers such as Dakota, Preqin, PitchBook or FINTRX

These are different orders of magnitude and different purchases. DealCloud is a platform commitment for a firm standardising many workflows; Altss is a subscription that includes the data. A useful sanity check: add the data subscription and implementation to a DealCloud quote before comparing it to anything.

*DealCloud pricing figures come from independent third-party pricing coverage checked August 6, 2026; Intapp publishes no list price. Altss pricing per altss.com/pricing, August 2026.*

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#competitor-wins)

If you are standardising workflow across a large multi-strategy firm, buy DealCloud. The question is then which data subscription sits behind it, and that is where Altss competes.

Where DealCloud wins

For a large firm, DealCloud does things Altss does not attempt and should not be compared against.

- 01

### The full deal lifecycle in one system

Sourcing, diligence, execution, and portfolio monitoring, with the same records and permissions throughout[1](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-1). Altss covers a fundraising pipeline and nothing beyond it.

- 02

### A data model shaped to your firm

Custom objects, pipelines, stages, reports, and field-level permissions configured to how your firm actually operates[1](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-1). Altss is a fixed product with no configuration surface at all.

- 03

### Compliance, time, and billing in the same suite

Intapp spans deal management, compliance, and time and billing[1](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-1). For a regulated firm consolidating vendors, that breadth is the reason to buy.

- 04

### Enterprise scale and continuity

1,100+ client firms and Intapp cloud ARR above $400M in Q1 FY2026[1](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-1). Procurement teams at large firms weight that heavily, and reasonably.

- 05

### It integrates with everything, including us being irrelevant to it

DealCloud connects to data providers, Office, email, and the wider Intapp platform. Altss has no public raw-data API and no integrations by design, so a firm whose architecture depends on data flowing between systems will find DealCloud accommodating and Altss deliberately closed.

- 06

### One system across many teams

Deal teams, IR, compliance, and finance working from the same records is genuinely valuable at scale, and it is not something a focused data platform delivers.

If you are standardising workflow across a large multi-strategy firm, buy DealCloud. The question is then which data subscription sits behind it, and that is where Altss competes.

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#altss-wins)Where Altss wins

- 01

### It comes with the data

9,000+ family offices, 150,000+ private-markets entities, and 40,000+ GPs, collected from the public record[3](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-3). DealCloud holds whatever you put in it and licenses market data separately. On day one the difference is stark.

- 02

### No implementation project

DealCloud implementations typically run months and often depend on professional services[2](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-2). Altss has nothing to configure. For a team raising now, time-to-first-outreach is measured in hours rather than quarters.

- 03

### Mandate and personnel signals across the market

Mandate shifts, CIO transitions, and fund launches surface as they become publicly observable[3](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-3). A configured CRM can only alert you about entities someone already added to it.

- 04

### Outbound is included

AI-assisted outreach with sequenced follow-ups, sent from your own mailbox, plus a research copilot and a meeting notetaker in the same product. On the DealCloud side these are separate tools and separate integrations.

- 05

### Published pricing at a different order of magnitude

$15,000 to $25,000 a year published ($12,000 to $20,000 for qualifying emerging managers), with no implementation fee, and Altss Fundraising OS from $25,000. DealCloud does not publish pricing, and independent reporting puts software alone commonly in the low six figures before implementation and before data[2](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-2).

- 06

### Built for the raise

DealCloud's centre of gravity is deal execution and firm-wide workflow. Altss is built for capital formation: who to target, what they are mandating, who to contact, what to send.

- 07

### A live 35M+ company dataset

Companies and startups, completing the LP to GP to portfolio-company graph inside one platform[3](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#source-3).

*Comparison accurate as of August 6, 2026. Intapp and DealCloud figures come from Intapp reporting and independent third-party pricing coverage; Intapp publishes no list price, so cost figures are reported ranges rather than quotes. Altss figures reflect internal database counts. A “No” against Altss on API, export, and integrations reflects a deliberate product decision.*

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#testimonials)What fund managers are saying

“DealCloud is where the firm lives. It was never going to tell us which family offices in Singapore were writing cheques this year, because that was never its job.”

— Head of IR at a multi-strategy alternatives manager1

“We scoped DealCloud for the IR team and the implementation timeline alone ended the conversation. We were raising in six weeks.”

— Partner at a growth equity fund raising Fund II2

“We run both. DealCloud for deals and compliance, Altss for the allocator side. The overlap is one pipeline view and nobody minds it.”

— COO at a mid-market private equity firm3

“The thing nobody tells you about an enterprise CRM is that it arrives empty. The data is a separate purchase, and that purchase is the one that decides whether the raise works.”

— Managing Director, private credit4

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#which-is-right)Which is right for you?

For large multi-strategy firms standardising workflow

DealCloud. One configured system across deals, IR, compliance, and finance is exactly what it is for, and That is a different product.

For emerging and mid-market managers raising capital

Altss. The data arrives with the product, there is no implementation project, and the subscription cost is an order of magnitude below a platform commitment.

For firms already running DealCloud

Add Altss as the allocator data layer rather than replacing anything. DealCloud stays the system of record; Altss supplies coverage and signals it was never designed to produce.

For teams that need deal execution and compliance

DealCloud. Altss covers a fundraising pipeline and stops there.

For firms with a defined process and an operations team

DealCloud's configurability returns the implementation investment. Without that team, it usually does not.

For teams whose architecture depends on integrations

DealCloud. Altss has no public raw-data API, no export, and no data-provider integrations by design, and this is a hard blocker rather than a roadmap item.

For a firm buying its first serious tool

Buy the data before the platform. An empty enterprise CRM does not raise a fund; a target list with working contacts does.

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#pros-cons)Pros and cons

### Altss

Pros

- +The allocator dataset is included: 9,000+ family offices, 150,000+ LP entities, 40,000+ GPs

- +No implementation project and no professional services

- +Mandate, personnel, and fund-launch signals across the market

- +AI-assisted outreach, research copilot, and meeting notetaker in the same product

- +Live 35M+ company dataset

- +Published pricing, from $12,000 a year for emerging managers

Cons

- −No deal execution, compliance, time, or billing modules

- −Fixed product: no custom objects, no configurable data model

- −Workspace-level permissions rather than field-level controls

- −no public raw-data API, no export, no data-provider integrations, all by design

- −Purpose-built for the raise rather than as a firm-wide system of record

### DealCloud

Pros

- +Full deal lifecycle from sourcing through execution

- +Highly configurable data model, pipelines, and reporting

- +Compliance, time, and billing across the Intapp suite

- +Extensive integrations, including major data providers

- +1,100+ client firms; Intapp cloud ARR above $400M in Q1 FY2026

- +Field-level permissions suited to regulated firms

Cons

- −Arrives without allocator data; market data is a separate licence

- −No published pricing; commonly low six figures per independent reporting

- −Implementation typically runs months and often needs professional services

- −Configuration depth is overhead for small IR teams

- −No native mandate or personnel signals across the allocator universe

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#using-both)Using both together

Running both is the common pattern at firms above roughly fifty people, and the split is clean.

- **DealCloud** as the firm-wide system of record: deal pipeline, execution, compliance, permissions, and reporting configured to your process

- **Altss** as the allocator data and outreach layer: family office and institutional LP coverage, mandate signals, targeting, and the outreach workflow

The overlap is a single fundraising pipeline view, which most firms resolve by keeping the record of truth in DealCloud and doing discovery and first-touch work in Altss.

If you are choosing one, the question is whether your binding constraint is workflow standardisation or allocator coverage. Firms rarely get that answer wrong once it is stated plainly.

## [#](https://altss.com/vs/dealcloud#faq)Frequently asked questions

Is Altss a replacement for DealCloud?

Not for a firm that needs deal execution, compliance, and a configurable firm-wide data model. Altss covers a fundraising pipeline and nothing beyond it. For a small IR team with no enterprise CRM, Altss often removes the need to buy one; for a large multi-strategy firm, it does not.

Is DealCloud a replacement for Altss?

No, because DealCloud does not supply allocator data. It manages what you put into it and integrates with data providers licensed separately. A DealCloud instance without a data subscription behind it has no family office or institutional LP coverage at all.

What does DealCloud cost?

Intapp does not publish pricing. Independent reporting puts annual software cost commonly in the low six figures, reaching high six figures for larger or multi-office firms, before implementation and before the market data subscription. Altss publishes $12,000 to $25,000 a year depending on tier and manager stage, with one named user included and additional users from $5,000, and Altss Fundraising OS from $25,000.

How long does each take to get running?

DealCloud implementations are typically multi-month and often involve professional services for configuration. Altss has no configuration step; a new user logs in and works. If you are raising within the quarter, that difference usually decides it.

Can Altss data be pushed into DealCloud?

No. Altss has no public raw-data API, no CSV export, and no data-provider integration. If your requirement is to enrich DealCloud records from an outside allocator dataset, Altss is the wrong tool, and providers such as Dakota, Preqin, or FINTRX integrate with DealCloud where Altss deliberately does not.

We already run DealCloud. Where does Altss fit?

As the allocator data and first-touch layer. DealCloud stays the system of record for deals and firm-wide workflow; Altss supplies the family office and institutional LP coverage, mandate signals, and outreach that DealCloud was never built to produce.

Which should a Fund I or Fund II manager buy?

Altss, in almost every case. At that stage the binding constraint is knowing which allocators to approach, not standardising workflow across teams that do not exist yet. Emerging-manager pricing starts at $12,000/year.

Can I trial Altss before deciding?

Yes. Book a demo to get a working account and test allocator coverage against your own target list before committing.
