# Altss vs FINTRX

By Altss April 19, 2026 15 min read Competitor figures re-checked August 8, 2026

FINTRX is the US private-wealth data standard: RIAs, broker-dealers, registered representatives, and family offices, wired into the CRM your distribution team already runs. Altss is an OSINT-native allocator-intelligence platform covering global family offices and institutional LPs, with the fundraising workflow built in: a CRM and pipeline, AI-assisted outreach, a research copilot, an inbox with a meeting notetaker, Scouter, events intelligence, and a relationship graph. The two are built for different motions. This page covers where each wins, honestly.

The short answer

Choose Altss when

You are raising alternatives capital from institutional LPs or family offices outside the US. FINTRX covers neither institutional LPs nor GPs, so it cannot carry the raise on its own.

Choose FINTRX when

You are selling a product through advisors. 790,000+ registered representatives, 27,000+ wealth teams, and CRM plumbing your distribution team already runs. Altss holds the adviser firms but not the people inside them.

*FINTRX figures were read directly from fintrx.com on August 6, 2026. Altss figures were measured against the platform database on August 8, 2026; the adviser counts are firms matched to a Form ADV CRD number, so they can be checked against the SEC's own IAPD records. Neither platform's counts are audited by a third party; both should be tested against your own target list during an evaluation.*

> These platforms rarely compete for the same job. FINTRX is the reference for the US wealth channel: 45,000+ RIAs and broker-dealers, 790,000+ registered representatives, and the CRM plumbing to work them. Altss is built for alternatives fundraising: 9,000+ global family offices, 150,000+ private-markets entities, GP coverage, and the raise workflow in one platform. The adviser firm lists are closer than either vendor's marketing suggests, at 38,500+ against 45,000+; what FINTRX has and Altss does not is the person inside the firm. If you are selling a product through advisors, FINTRX. If you are raising a fund from allocators, Altss. The overlap is family offices, and there the question is whether your targets are US-based.

## What is Altss?

Altss is an OSINT-native allocator-intelligence platform built for managers raising capital in alternative assets. Instead of relying on self-reported profiles, Altss works from open-source intelligence: SEC filings (Form ADV, Form D, 13F), state pension CAFRs, Form 990 and 990-PF for foundations, endowment annual reports, sovereign wealth fund disclosures, verified corporate registries, and published allocator statements. That produces verified profiles of 9,000+ family offices and 150,000+ private-markets entities worldwide[6](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-6).

Public records carry source-specific dates where available. No population-wide measured refresh cadence or universal verification deadline is established here. Page modified, source captured, fact observed, entity verified and aggregate measured describe different events. Check the date attached to the relevant claim; a missing verification date means unknown. Stored source history does not establish a customer-facing historical-analysis interface.

The workflow sits on the same data: a built-in CRM and pipeline, AI-assisted outreach, a research copilot, an inbox with a meeting notetaker, Scouter for investor discovery, events and conference intelligence, and a relationship graph connecting LPs, GPs, and the people who move between them. Altss also runs a live 35M+ company dataset.

Altss is UI-only. There is no CSV export, no public raw-data API, and no CRM sync. That is a deliberate constraint, and it is the single biggest reason a team picks FINTRX over Altss.

## What ships in the platform today

## What is FINTRX?

FINTRX is a private-wealth data platform covering the US retail and advisory channel: registered investment advisors, broker-dealers, registered representatives, wealth teams, and family offices. Its buyer is usually an asset manager's distribution team deciding which advisors and offices to call, and its data is designed to land inside the CRM that team already runs.

Per FINTRX's own site, read August 6, 2026, the platform publishes[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1):

- **45,000+ RIAs and broker-dealers**[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)
- **790,000+ registered representatives**[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)
- **27,000+ wealth teams**[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)
- **4,500+ family offices** and **29,000+ family office contacts**[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)
- **650,000+ verified emails**[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)
- **$144T+ in RIA assets tracked**[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)
- **100,000+ updates per month**[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)

FINTRX has also built out an AI layer: AI Analyst for contextual firm and contact insights, AI Elements, and a Relationship Path feature for mapping introductions. It ships a Chrome extension, a LinkedIn plugin, data feeds and APIs, and CRM integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, DealCloud, and Microsoft Dynamics. Notably, FINTRX also publishes an MCP server that exposes its data inside Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, which Altss does not offer[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1).

FINTRX does not publish pricing. Quotes come through sales.

### Family offices: the one place these platforms genuinely overlap

FINTRX publishes 4,500+ family offices and 29,000+ family office contacts[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1). Altss tracks 9,000+ family offices globally[6](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-6). The gap is mostly geographic rather than a difference in quality: FINTRX's coverage concentrates on the US private-wealth channel, where it is dense and well-maintained, while Altss's OSINT pipeline is built to reach European industrial families, Middle Eastern family conglomerates, Asian dynastic wealth, and Latin American principal investors.

The practical test is simple, and you should run it rather than trust either number. Take twenty target offices from your actual pipeline and ask both platforms for the investment decision-maker, the current mandate, and a working email. If your twenty are US-based, expect FINTRX to hold up well. If more than a handful sit outside North America, the gap opens quickly.

### Institutional LPs and GPs: not a FINTRX category

Pensions, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, insurers, and fund-of-funds are not part of the FINTRX dataset, and neither are GPs. Altss covers 150,000+ private-markets entities and GPs with strategy, fund status, and LP-base visibility[6](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-6).

This is the structural reason FINTRX cannot serve an alternatives raise on its own. A Fund II manager targeting a mix of family offices, endowments, and insurance allocators will find roughly one of those three segments in FINTRX.

### The wealth channel: near parity on firms, a real gap on people

At the firm level these datasets are closer than the headline numbers suggest. Altss holds 38,500+ SEC- and state-registered investment advisers matched to their Form ADV filing and CRD number as of August 2026, of which 10,800+ dual-registered broker-dealers are also registered on the broker-dealer side, against FINTRX's 45,000+ RIAs and broker-dealers[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)[6](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-6). Altss also carries $165T+ in regulatory assets under management against FINTRX's $144T+[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)[6](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-6).

The gap opens one layer down. FINTRX's 790,000+ registered representatives and 27,000+ wealth teams have no equivalent in Altss, and the people layer is what a distribution team actually calls. Altss narrows the firm list instead: 14,700+ advisers reporting private funds on Form ADV, and 7,500+ advisers with reported 13F public holdings[6](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-6). Advisor recruiting, break-away tracking, and ETF or mutual fund distribution planning remain FINTRX use cases that Altss does not attempt.

## Data freshness

FINTRX tracks a registered population where filings drive change. Altss tracks allocators, most of which never file anything about a mandate shift.

Both platforms update as their sources change, but they are solving different freshness problems. FINTRX tracks a registered population, where the underlying filings are frequent and structured. Altss tracks allocators, many of which are private and never file anything about a mandate change.

### Altss

- Public records carry source-specific dates where available.
- Faster updates on personnel changes, mandate shifts, and fund launches as they become publicly observable
- Every email bounce-checked before the record appears
- Every record traceable to a public source with a verification timestamp

### FINTRX

- 100,000+ updates published per month[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)
- Strong cadence on registered entities, where ADV and BD filings drive change
- 650,000+ verified emails published across the advisory channel[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)
- Family office data depends more on research than on filings, as it does everywhere in this category

Neither cadence claim is independently audited. If freshness is the deciding factor, ask both vendors to show you the last-verified timestamp on ten records you name.

## Methodology: OSINT vs. registration-driven coverage

The methodological split follows the population each platform tracks.

**FINTRX's approach:** registration-driven. RIAs and broker-dealers file with regulators, so the spine of the dataset is a well-structured public record refreshed on a predictable cycle, enriched with research on teams, AUM, and product preferences. This works extremely well for the advisory channel. It works less well for family offices, most of which have no filing obligation at all, which is why every vendor in this category, including Altss, has to solve family offices a different way.

**Altss's approach:** OSINT-first. Altss treats allocator intelligence as an open-source intelligence problem across many source types at once: SEC filings, pension CAFRs, Form 990 and 990-PF, endowment annual reports, sovereign wealth fund disclosures, verified corporate registries, public news, and published allocator statements. Every record is traceable to its public source and timestamped. Nothing depends on the allocator filling out a survey.

The practical difference shows up on an unregistered European single-family office that just hired a head of private markets. There is no filing to catch it. FINTRX is unlikely to surface it; Altss is built specifically to.

## Pricing

### Altss

Published. **Family Office Intelligence $15,000/year**. **Global Investor Intelligence $18,000**. **Full Market Intelligence $25,000**, which adds the company dataset. Plans include one named user; additional named users $5,000 each. **Altss Fundraising OS**, which adds the investor CRM, AI-assisted outreach and meeting intelligence on top of the intelligence layer, starts at **$25,000/year** for the family-office configuration, $35,000 with Global Investor Intelligence and $45,000 with Full Market Intelligence. Full detail is on the pricing page.

### FINTRX

**FINTRX:**

- No pricing published on fintrx.com as of August 6, 2026[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1)
- Quotes are scoped by sales, typically by seat count and module
- Third-party software directories list FINTRX without a public price[2](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-2)

We are not going to invent a FINTRX number. FINTRX does not publish pricing, and any range we quoted would be hearsay. Ask them directly, and compare it against our published tiers.

## If the sentence describing your job contains the word advisor, wholesaler, or distribution, FINTRX is the better platform and we would rather you buy it.

Where FINTRX wins

For a large part of the market, FINTRX is simply the right tool, and no amount of family-office depth changes that.

1. 01

   ### The people layer of the advisory channel

790,000+ registered representatives and 27,000+ wealth teams[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1). Altss is within range on adviser firms and behind on nothing that files, but it holds no rep-level or team-level data at all. If your product distributes through advisors, the person you call sits in that layer, and FINTRX is the dataset.
2. 02

   ### It fits the stack your distribution team already runs

Salesforce, HubSpot, DealCloud, and Microsoft Dynamics integrations, plus data feeds and APIs[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1). Years of territory management, reporting, and comp plans are usually built on that CRM. Altss deliberately does not integrate with any of it.
3. 03

   ### An MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity

FINTRX exposes its data to outside AI tools through a published MCP server[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1). Altss has an in-platform copilot but no equivalent connector into third-party LLM products. If your team wants to query wealth-channel data from inside Claude or ChatGPT, FINTRX supports that today and we do not.
4. 04

   ### Advisor recruiting and break-away tracking

Advisor team data, 13F holdings analysis, and movement tracking support specialized adviser-recruiting workflows. Altss Full Market supports M&A research through company, ownership and transaction intelligence, without claiming those specialized recruiting tools.
5. 05

   ### Capture surfaces where the work happens

A Chrome extension and a LinkedIn plugin put the data on the page the user is already looking at[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1). Altss has no browser extension.
6. 06

   ### Scale of the contact graph

650,000+ verified emails across the advisory channel[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1). Altss verifies harder on a much smaller contact set, and for a wholesaler working a territory the breadth is the point.

If the sentence describing your job contains the word advisor, wholesaler, or distribution, FINTRX is the better platform and we would rather you buy it.

## Where Altss wins

1. 01

   ### Global family offices, not just US ones

9,000+ family offices globally[6](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-6) against FINTRX's 4,500+[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1), with the difference concentrated outside North America: Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. For a manager whose LP base is international, this is usually the whole decision.
2. 02

   ### Institutional LPs exist here

150,000+ private-markets entities across pensions, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, insurers, and fund-of-funds[6](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-6). FINTRX does not cover this segment, so an alternatives raise cannot run on FINTRX alone.
3. 03

   ### GP coverage and emerging-manager identification

GP coverage with strategy, fund status, and LP-base visibility[6](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-6). Fund I and Fund II managers are identified from Form D and Form ADV filings. FINTRX does not track alternatives managers as a category.
4. 04

   ### The workflow is included, not integrated

A built-in CRM and pipeline, AI-assisted outreach, a research copilot, an inbox with a meeting notetaker, Scouter, and events intelligence. FINTRX's model is to feed the CRM you already own. Altss's model is to be the place the raise runs. For a five-person IR team without a Salesforce admin, that difference is measured in months of setup.
5. 05

   ### Published pricing

Altss publishes its pricing by tier. FINTRX does not publish pricing at all[1](https://altss.com/vs/fintrx#source-1). Neither approach is wrong, but one of them lets you budget before taking a sales call.
6. 06

   ### Source traceability on every record

Each Altss record traces to a public source with a verification timestamp, so a claim about an allocator can be checked against a filing rather than trusted.
7. 07

   ### A live 35M+ company dataset

*Comparison accurate as of August 6, 2026. FINTRX figures and feature list read from fintrx.com on that date. Altss figures reflect internal database counts. A “No” against Altss on export, API, and CRM sync reflects a deliberate product decision, not a missing feature; see the platform page for the reasoning.*

## Which is right for you?

For asset managers distributing through advisors

FINTRX. 45,000+ RIAs and broker-dealers, 790,000+ registered representatives, and CRM integrations that fit the way distribution teams already work. Altss is not built for this and will not serve you well.

For alternatives GPs raising from institutional LPs

Altss. FINTRX does not cover pensions, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, or insurers, so it cannot support the raise on its own.

For managers raising primarily from US family offices

Test both. This is the genuine overlap. FINTRX's US family office coverage is strong and its CRM plumbing is mature. Altss adds mandate signals, institutional LPs alongside the offices, and the outreach workflow. Run the same twenty target offices through both.

For managers with an international LP base

Altss. Coverage outside North America is where the two datasets diverge most sharply.

For emerging managers (Fund I–III)

Altss, on both coverage and price. Global plans start at $15,000/year, and Fund I and II managers are identified from Form D and Form ADV filings. FINTRX does not publish pricing and does not identify emerging alternatives managers.

For teams whose workflow depends on CRM sync or exports

FINTRX. Altss is UI-only by design: no CSV export, no public raw-data API, no CRM integrations. If your process requires data to leave the platform, this is a hard blocker, and we would rather tell you now.

For advisor recruiting and wealth-management M&A

FINTRX. Break-away tracking and advisor team data are FINTRX specialties that Altss does not attempt.

## Pros and cons

### Altss

Pros

- +9,000+ family offices globally, with real depth outside North America
- +150,000+ private-markets entities, a segment FINTRX does not cover
- +GP coverage with strategy, fund status, and LP-base visibility
- +Live 35M+ company dataset
- +Built-in CRM, AI outreach, research copilot, inbox and notetaker, Scouter, events intelligence
- +Public records carry source-specific dates where available.
- +Published pricing, with global plans from $15,000 a year

Cons

- −No CRM integrations, no public raw-data API, no bulk export, all by design
- −No registered-representative, wealth-team, or advisor-recruiting data, where FINTRX holds 790,000+ reps and 27,000+ teams
- −Worked in the platform; browser extension and MCP access are on the roadmap

### FINTRX

Pros

- +45,000+ RIAs and broker-dealers, 790,000+ registered representatives
- +27,000+ wealth teams, the layer Altss does not cover at all
- +Mature CRM integrations: Salesforce, HubSpot, DealCloud, Dynamics
- +MCP server exposing data inside Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity
- +AI Analyst, AI Elements, and Relationship Path
- +Chrome extension and LinkedIn plugin
- +Advisor recruiting and break-away tracking
- +100,000+ updates published per month

Cons

- −No institutional LP coverage: pensions, endowments, foundations, sovereign, insurance
- −No GP or fund-manager coverage
- −Family office coverage is US-weighted and thinner internationally
- −No built-in CRM, outreach, or notetaker; it feeds a workflow rather than being one
- −Pricing is not published

## Using both together

For large asset managers whose business spans wealth-channel distribution and alternatives fundraising, running both is the normal answer rather than a compromise.

- **FINTRX** for the advisory channel: RIA and broker-dealer targeting, registered representatives, wealth teams, advisor recruiting, and product distribution planning
- **Altss** for the alternatives raise: global family offices, institutional LPs, GP intelligence, mandate signals, and the outreach and pipeline workflow

The two rarely cannibalize each other because they answer different questions. The overlap is US family offices, and even there the use cases differ: FINTRX tells you which offices exist in the channel, Altss tells you which are allocating right now and who to contact.

For an alternatives-only manager, FINTRX alone is usually insufficient. For a wealth-channel-only distributor, Altss alone is the wrong tool.

## Frequently asked questions

Can Altss replace FINTRX?

Only if your work is alternatives fundraising. On firms the two are close: Altss holds 38,500+ SEC- and state-registered investment advisers matched to Form ADV against FINTRX's 45,000+ RIAs and broker-dealers. On people it is not close, because Altss has no registered-representative, wealth-team, or advisor-recruiting data and FINTRX has 790,000+ reps. If RIA distribution is central to your business, FINTRX is purpose-built and Altss is not a substitute.

Can FINTRX replace Altss?

No, not for an alternatives raise. FINTRX does not cover institutional LPs (pensions, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, insurers) or GPs. Those are the counterparties on most fund raises, and they are simply not in the dataset.

How do the two compare on family offices?

FINTRX publishes 4,500+ family offices and 29,000+ family office contacts; Altss tracks 9,000+ globally. The difference is mostly geography rather than quality: FINTRX is dense in the US private-wealth channel, Altss is built to reach European, Middle Eastern, Asian, and Latin American offices. Run your own target list through both before deciding.

Both have AI. What is actually different?

FINTRX's AI Analyst and AI Elements answer questions about advisors, firms, and offices in the wealth channel, and FINTRX publishes an MCP server so you can query that data from Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity. Altss's copilot answers questions about allocators and mandates, and hands the answer to a built-in CRM, AI-assisted outreach, and a meeting notetaker in the same platform. FINTRX takes its data to your tools; Altss brings the tools to its data.

Does Altss integrate with our CRM?

No. Altss has no Salesforce, HubSpot, DealCloud, or Dynamics integration, no public raw-data API, and no CSV export. FINTRX has all of them. This is a deliberate Altss product decision rather than a gap on a roadmap, and for some teams it is a reason to choose FINTRX.

What does each platform cost?

Altss publishes pricing: Family Office Intelligence $15,000/year, Global Investor Intelligence $18,000 and Full Market Intelligence $25,000. Altss Fundraising OS, which adds the CRM and outreach workflow, starts at $25,000/year. FINTRX does not publish pricing; quotes come through sales.

Which is better for emerging managers?

Altss, on both coverage and price. Global plans start at $15,000/year, family office and institutional LP coverage sit in one product, and Fund I and Fund II managers are identified from Form D and Form ADV filings. FINTRX does not identify emerging alternatives managers as a category.

Can I evaluate Altss before switching?

Yes, through a guided demo rather than a trial: Altss does not offer a free trial or a trial account. On the call we run the registry live against your own target list, geography, and ticket size, including where coverage is thin. A demo is optional; published plans are bought online.

## Test both against your own target list.

Book a demo and bring twenty real targets. We will show you what Altss holds on each one, where FINTRX is the better answer, and what the raise looks like when the data and the workflow sit in the same place.
