South Carolina Venture Capital Authority Overview

General Information

The South Carolina Venture Capital Authority (SCVCA) was established in 2004 by the state legislature to enhance the availability of equity, near-equity, and seed capital for emerging, expanding, relocating, and restructuring enterprises within South Carolina. Its core mission is to strengthen the state's economic base, support economic development, address the capital needs of small and medium-sized firms, and expand venture capital opportunities. The SCVCA initiated the creation of InvestSC to serve as the state's designated investor group, facilitating these investment goals.
