Your line into the firms that hire the industry
Altss is the OSINT platform the alternatives industry runs on — used daily inside the world's largest asset managers, investment banks, and private equity firms. The Analyst and Reporter program is selective, remote, and designed to end in a full-time offer at Altss or a path into the firms that hire from us.
We make private markets discoverable
The alternatives industry runs on intelligence locked behind walls and warped by surveys. Altss replaces that with OSINT — primary sources, public filings, regulatory disclosures, real-time signal — verified, structured, and delivered into the workflows of the firms that allocate the world's capital.
Global private markets AUM. The largest market without a true intelligence layer.
Entities tracked across LPs, GPs, family offices, portfolio companies, and deals.
Maximum refresh cycle. Every record verified, sourced, and dated before it ships.
Two program tracks — plus a general application.
Both roles are remote, semester-based, and reviewed on a rolling basis. Applications close when the seat is filled.
Altss Analyst
Produce research, fund briefs, LP profiles, and regional intelligence across private equity, venture, credit, and alternatives. The work puts you inside the same workflows used by the largest asset managers in the world. Past Analyst roles have led directly into BlackRock, JPMorgan, Apollo, Blackstone, and full-time roles at Altss itself.
- Cover LP, GP, family office, and portfolio company movement
- Build fund briefs and regional market notes
- Verify and enrich entity profiles using OSINT tradecraft
- Monitor SEC filings, Form D, ADV, and global regulators
- Direct line to the founding team — recommendation letters and warm introductions
Altss Reporter
Break and write stories for Altss Insights, our private markets publication. Bylines that get read inside the world's largest asset managers, banks, and funds. The fastest way to build a private markets reporting career — Bloomberg, Reuters, FT, and the Wall Street firms that hire from them.
- Publish original reporting on fund closes, LP moves, allocator activity
- Produce analytical features and rankings using Altss datasets
- Cover regional markets — North America, Europe, Asia
- Named byline on Altss Insights and cross-posting rights
- Direct line to the founding team — recommendation letters and warm introductions
Don't see a track that fits? Tell us anyway.
Send a general application — we keep strong candidates on file and reach out when something opens up. Same form, pick “General application” in the role dropdown.
There's a line. We work above it.
- 01Build from primary sources — filings, disclosures, original signal.
- 02Verify before publishing. Every entity, every datapoint, every story.
- 03Invest in systems that compound. Today's profile makes tomorrow's faster.
- 04Write for the people making decisions, not the people scrolling.
- 05Output over hours. Real work over visible activity.
- 01Aggregate from secondary sources and call it research.
- 02Publish first, verify if anyone notices.
- 03Sprint from one report to the next without retention.
- 04Optimize for clicks, traffic, and SEO over substance.
- 05Reward hours and visibility over actual output.
A credential that opens every door in alternatives
A credential that travels
"Altss" on your résumé reads inside every alternatives shop in the world. The platform is recognized — and so are the people who built it.
Direct line into top firms
Recommendation letters, warm introductions, references into recruiting at the world's largest asset managers, investment banks, and funds.
The work the industry runs on
You're not building decks. You're producing the intelligence allocators, managers, and bankers read every morning.
Built around your calendar
Approximately ten hours a week, fully flexible. Paused during finals. Renewable each semester through graduation.
Founder access
Monthly one-on-ones with the founding team. The kind of mentorship usually reserved for senior associates — at the front of your career.
Designed to end in an offer
This program is how we hire. The strongest performers are offered full-time roles at Altss directly — that's the point.
Fully distributed across five countries. We hire on output, not timezone — though we cover one between us.

We started Altss because the alternatives industry runs on intelligence locked behind walls. The best people to fix that don't have the credential yet — they have the instincts. We hire on that, then we build the credential together.
A program designed to end in a full-time offer
The Altss Analyst and Reporter programs are how we identify the people we want on the team for the long run. Three steps, one direction.
Apply & Onboard
Submit your application. Selected candidates onboard within two weeks — platform access, methodology training, and a first assignment.
Produce & Compound
Ship deliverables every month. Build the credential, the byline, the network. Renewable each semester through graduation.
Stay or Launch
Top performers are offered full-time roles at Altss directly. The rest leave with a recommendation, a network, and a path into the industry's largest firms.
The honest answers to the real questions
- 01
Is the program paid?
No. The program is intentionally selective and unpaid — we're investing in the credential, the platform access, the founder mentorship, and the path to a full-time offer. Top performers are hired directly into paid full-time roles at Altss.
- 02
How many hours per week, really?
Approximately ten. Fully flexible. We measure output, not hours. Some weeks are lighter, some heavier — the program is built around your schedule and pauses during finals.
- 03
Where do I need to be located?
Anywhere. The program is fully remote. We have a particular interest in candidates based in or covering North America, Europe, and Asia — but location is not a filter.
- 04
What background do you look for?
For Analyst: strong analytical instincts, attention to detail, comfort with primary sources. Finance, economics, or adjacent backgrounds help but aren't required. For Reporter: clean writing, reporting instincts, and ambition to cover alternatives. Existing clips are a plus, not a requirement.
- 05
What does "designed to end in a full-time offer" actually mean?
Exactly what it says. The program is our primary hiring funnel. Strong performers are offered full-time, paid roles at Altss directly — usually within two semesters. The program is the interview.
- 06
What if I'm not offered a full-time role?
You leave with a credential read across the industry, a founder-signed recommendation, warm introductions into recruiting at top firms, and bylined work or research artifacts you keep forever. The program is built so even the people we don't hire leave better positioned than they came in.
- 07
When does the program start?
Rolling. We onboard new program members continuously rather than in cohorts. Apply when you're ready; we'll respond within two weeks.
- 08
Can I apply if I'm graduating soon?
Yes. Recent graduates and final-year students are welcome — the path to a full-time offer is faster for candidates who can transition directly. Apply and tell us your timeline.
- 09
What if I don't fit either track but want to work at Altss?
Send a general application. Use the same form and pick "General application" in the role dropdown. We keep strong candidates on file — engineering, design, sales, ops, research — and reach out when something opens. Be specific about what you'd want to do.
One short application. We read every one.
Rolling basis — applications reviewed as they arrive. Selective by design. Most candidates hear back within two weeks.
