Founded in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1982 by Larry Elliott, Douglas Schick, and David Nicol, Trimlite began as a manufacturer of decorative glass inserts for steel door fabricators. The founding trio expanded the firm's capabilities by opening its first stile and rail door facility in 1993 and establishing a manufacturing footprint in Vietnam by 1995. The company is now headquartered in Renton, Washington, operating with a structure that blends proprietary Asian manufacturing with North American distribution. Trimlite designs, manufactures, and distributes exterior doors, interior doors, decorative door glass, and millwork products for the single-family and multi-family housing markets.
