1517 is a venture capital fund and community supporting college dropouts solving hard problems and deep tech scientists with investment at the earliest stages of their companies. Founded by the cofounders of the Thiel Fellowship, it supports founders across software, hardware, and deep tech verticals and also provides a community to hackers, makers, and scientists from across the world. It exists to take young people, the uncredentialed, and renegade scientists seriously, making angel-to-seed investments and giving micro-grants.
