The Versorgungswerk der Architektenkammer Sachsen was established in 1993 to administer retirement benefits for the regional architects' chamber. Olaf Wallat has served as managing director since 2014. The fund also provides services to architects in three neighboring states under separate agreements. Portfolio construction centers on four main sleeves. Fixed income accounts for 39.5 percent of assets through direct holdings in corporate, bank and government bonds. Private equity exposure targets buyouts and biotech or life sciences funds in Western Europe. Infrastructure allocations include renewable energy projects and infrastructure credit funds across Europe. Real estate is accessed primarily through the owned headquarters building in Dresden and via dedicated SPVs. The fund maintains three external service relationships. Baker Tilly has acted as auditor since 2024 and Bansbach GmbH since 2023. Helaba Invest provides asset management support. Total staff size is not publicly disclosed. In November 2024 the fund participated as a panelist at the denkmal Trade Fair in Leipzig on monument preservation. Governance ties the investment mandate directly to the professional chamber structure rather than to a commercial asset manager or external foundation. This creates a closed beneficiary pool limited to licensed architects and enforces statutory contribution rules that differ from voluntary private pensions.
