Catalyst is a non-profit science and technology hub headquartered in Belfast, United Kingdom, that supports entrepreneurs and early-stage companies across Northern Ireland through workspace, entrepreneur support, and collaboration programs. Rather than a traditional venture capital fund, Catalyst operates as an innovation ecosystem providing structured support pathways including Co-builders, Hello Possible, Springboard, INVENT, Basecamp Boston, and Way to Scale for entrepreneurs at various stages from ideation to scaling. The organization runs open innovation programs such as NWCAM2, ONEHEALTH, Innovate+, and Social Value Collaborative, connecting startups and innovators with corporate partners. Catalyst maintains workspaces in Belfast's Titanic Quarter, Bedford Street Belfast, and Derry/Londonderry. Its partner network includes companies such as AeroBlue, AVEVA, Plotbox, Thermo Fisher, Axial 3D, Bank of Ireland, and DisplayNote, among others. The organization also delivers inclusive youth and education programs like Stryve, Catalyst Schools, and Generation Innovation aimed at building entrepreneurial skills and future talent pipelines. Catalyst has been operating for 25 years supporting Northern Ireland's innovation and entrepreneurship community.
