Colfondos
Colfondos was established in 1991 and provides mandatory pension and severance products. It became a wholly owned subsidiary of Chile-based AFP Habitat in 2019 after prior ownership by Scotiabank and Mercantil Colpatria. The firm invests in public equities on the Bolsa de Valores de Colombia, private equity funds and infrastructure. Confirmed holdings include positions in Cementos Argos, Grupo Energía Bogotá and Promigas. It participates in a $1 billion infrastructure co-investment platform with Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional. Allocations also reach funds managed by EQT, Ashmore and Hg Capital. Activity spans Colombia and international markets. The firm employs 1,552 people and maintains membership in ASOFONDOS and FIAP. It launched the Piensa en Grandes social innovation fund in 2019 focused on elderly wellbeing. In April 2024 Colfondos attended the ASOFONDOS Congress in Cartagena. Ownership by AFP Habitat creates a cross-border structure that channels capital from Chilean and Colombian pension systems into local infrastructure and private equity.
