Credit Valley Hospital was founded in 1985 to serve the rapidly growing population of Mississauga, Ontario. Karli Farrow serves as President and CEO of the broader Trillium Health Partners network, which absorbed Credit Valley Hospital alongside Mississauga Hospital and the Queensway Health Centre in a landmark 2011 merger (public record). The amalgamation created one of the largest community-based academic hospital systems in Canada, anchored by an affiliation with the University of Toronto's Mississauga Academy of Medicine. The hospital's operations span acute care, complex continuing care, and rehabilitation services across in-patient and ambulatory settings. Adjacent philanthropic structures include the Trillium Health Partners Foundation, which ran a record-setting $100 million+ campaign co-chaired by real-estate developer Ignat Kaneff and other regional business figures. In February 2025, the foundation announced a $75 million donation from the Peter Gilgan Foundation to advance the construction of the new Mississauga Hospital — the largest single health-care donation in Canadian history at the time (per the foundation, February 2025).
