Keli Gadzekpo remains the group CEO overseeing the firm's strategic direction, while dedicated portfolio management teams within Databank Asset Management handle day-to-day investment decisions for the public mutual funds. The private equity team operates with its own investment committee, pursuing growth-stage transactions across West Africa.

Co-founder Ken Ofori-Atta served as Ghana's Minister of Finance from 2017 to 2024, placing him in a central policymaking role during the country's sovereign debt restructuring. He stepped back from executive duties at Databank upon taking office. The firm continues to operate as a private entity under Keli Gadzekpo's leadership.

Despite its name, Databank operates as a financial services group—not a deposit-taking bank. It houses an SEC-licensed asset manager, a broker-dealer, a corporate finance advisory unit, and a private equity arm under one corporate parent. The name reflects its founding ambition to function as a data-driven financial intermediary, not a commercial banking license.

Databank manages money market instruments, Ghanaian government and corporate fixed income, and equities listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange through its three primary mutual funds. On the private equity side, the firm pursues direct growth-equity investments in sectors including financial services, real estate, and consumer businesses within the Economic Community of West African States.

Databank operates both as a fund manager raising its own vehicles and a direct investor deploying balance-sheet capital. Its asset management unit runs publicly offered retail funds, while Databank Private Equity structures proprietary investment vehicles for institutional and high-net-worth co-investors seeking direct exposure to West African private companies.
