DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES- PRACTICE-BASED RESEARCH NETWORK

The Developmental Disabilities Practice-Based Research Network (DD-PBRN) is a practice-based research network established in 2013, headquartered in Westlake, United States. The network is dedicated to improving health and healthcare for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through research, education, and advocacy. It is led by Network Director Dr. Carl Tyler, MD, MSc, Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, who completed a three-year NIH-sponsored fellowship in Practice-Based Research Design and Methodology at CWRU. The DD-PBRN's membership includes healthcare professionals, social workers, care coordinators, family advocates, and self-advocates with disabilities, spanning organizations such as Cleveland Clinic, Koinonia Homes, Milestones Autism Resources, Ohio Family2Family, and the Down Syndrome Association of NE Ohio. Research coordination is provided by Lin Peters, MPH, who has worked in disability-related fields including as a transition services provider and data analyst for the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
