General Information

The Dietrich Foundation is a Pennsylvania charitable trust based in Pittsburgh, established by William S. Dietrich II. Its primary mission is to provide ongoing financial support to selected higher education institutions and other non-profits in Western Pennsylvania. The foundation was formed in 2013, following Mr. Dietrich's passing in 2011, and was initially funded with approximately $550 million in assets. It employs a unique investment strategy, primarily allocating to a global private equity portfolio, which has grown its assets to $1.5 billion.
