Clara Driscoll, known for preserving the Alamo, willed her estate to establish a not-for-profit pediatric hospital in 1953. The Corpus Christi campus now anchors a regional health system serving the Rio Grande Valley and Victoria through owned specialty centers and a newly opened full-service hospital in Edinburg. The operating footprint spans six Texas cities. The hospital's investment posture is inseparable from its operating mission: capital funds physical plant expansion rather than traditional portfolio allocations.
