Empowering Diverse Enterprises Inc (Édé) is a Brooklyn-based institutional endowment and nonprofit with $5 billion in AUM that provides fiscal sponsorship, capacity building, and strategic support to diverse entrepreneurs, worker-owned businesses, and community-driven enterprises. Its focus areas include worker ownership, climate resilience, housing equity, and community health. Édé's leadership co-founded The Drivers Cooperative, the first worker-owned ride-hailing cooperative in the United States, which organized over 10,500 NYC drivers and generated $6.1 million in revenue in its first year. The organization has also been involved in policy development, co-developing the Green and Accessible Transition Authority (GATA, S5552), landmark EV transition legislation in the New York State Senate. Édé engages in coalition advocacy around $3 billion in health-related social care funding through the Commission on the Public's Health System. Its leadership brings cross-sector expertise spanning labor, cooperative development, health equity, housing justice, transportation finance, and community partnerships.
