Envestnet Yodlee began as a consumer finance startup in 1999 under founder Bill Moffitt, and was acquired by Envestnet for $590 million in 2015. The unit is now the data arm of the larger Envestnet wealth management platform, providing account aggregation, transaction enrichment, and data analytics services. Its wealth origin is not from a family but from a corporate parent — Envestnet itself — which went public in 2010. Yodlee's core offering is its financial data platform: it aggregates account data from thousands of institutions, normalizes and categorizes transactions, and provides APIs for financial apps. The business covers asset classes including cash, investments, credit cards, and loans. Named customers include Betterment, Personal Capital, and Merrill Edge. Geographically, it operates across North America, Europe, and India, with data center presence in the US and EU. The unit employs a large engineering workforce in Bangalore, India, and maintains offices in Charlotte and London. Envestnet as a whole reported over $1.6 billion in revenue in 2024, though Yodlee's revenue is not broken out separately.
